The Project
What We Were Asked to Build
A two-level outdoor build: a composite deck off the kitchen door stepping down to a paver patio with a seating wall and built-in lighting.
The backyard was underused. The homeowners wanted a low-maintenance deck for grilling and a patio for dining and fire pit nights.
Problem & Solution
The Challenge
The yard sloped away from the house, so the deck needed to be level while the patio followed the grade.
Our Solution
We designed a split-level transition with three wide steps and a retaining wall that doubled as a planter. Drainage was routed away from both the house and patio.
