The Project
What We Were Asked to Build
Carpet and dated laminate removed throughout the first floor and replaced with wide-plank engineered hardwood, with tile in the entry and bath.
The homeowners wanted one continuous flooring material that could handle dogs, kids, and sandy shoes from the shore.
Problem & Solution
The Challenge
The old laminate was glued down in spots and the subfloor had high and low areas that would telegraph through the new hardwood.
Our Solution
We scraped the adhesive, sanded the high spots, and filled the low spots with leveling compound. The hardwood went down flat and quiet.
